Simon Owen lies third
NZPA-Reuter Hilversum, the • Netherlands The. top New Zealand professional, Simon Owen — in a welcome return to form — shot a one-under-par 71 to lie in equal third position after the first round of the $84,000 Dutch Open ..golf championship at Hilversum yesterday.
Spain’s Severiano Ballesteros and Britain’s Eddie Polland turned in the best rounds of the day to share first spot with 3-under-par--695.
They are a stroke ahead of the Britons, Sandy Lyle and Tony Charnley, and South Africa’s Dennis WatSOn.
