Pressure on top teams
The pressure will be on the two top teams from the first round senior rugby competition, New Brighton and Linwood, when the championship play-offs continue this afternoon. Both sides were beaten last Saturday, and they will need to win today to keep their C.S.B. Trophy hopes alive. Linwood should succeed in this aim, against Belfast, but New Brigh-. ton : faces a difficult task in
trying conclusions with Christchurch, which ran into form last week.
University A and Old Boys, both winners in the first of the play-off rounds, will oppose each other in a game which might well decide the championship finalist from their side of the draw. Marist is the. frontrunner. for the other position, and it will play Shirley with firm hopes of another win. ’
