General Forecast I The depression in the central Tasman Sea is expected to drift slowly south, and its associated front should also move slowly southwards today and tomorrow. Scattered, light rain is expected in most North Island districts and in the north and west of the South Island. Only isolated showers are expected behind the front, but these may become more frequent in the afternoon. District forecasts: Canterbury: Cloudy and cold,
some drizzle on the coast, light rain likely elsewhere; north-easter-lies fresh in exposed places. Marlborough: Cloud thickening and rain developing; moderate northerlies predominating; cool. Nelson, Buller, Westland: Moderate north-easter-lies predominating; cloudy with outbreaks of light rain; cold. Outlook: Scattered showers on the Coast, fine elsewhere.
