Hockey loss
The Sydenham-Cashmere hockey team bowed out of the national inter-club hockey competition when it lost, 0-2, to Hutt Valley at Te Whiti Park in the Hutt at the week-end. Hutt Valley, led by the New Zealand international brothers, Peter and Brent Miskimmin, scored two firsthalf goals. Gerald Ross, a former Christchurch player, and Kim Stallard were the scorers. The game was very even and played on a good surface. Sydenham had its chances to score but could not reduce the lead in the second half. ' '
