Interest in oil sector
The New Zealand sharemarket opened the week on a steady note in quiet trading yesterday. The mining and oil sector continued to attract interest and market leaders were firmer. New Zealand Insurance rose 2c to 292 c, and Wattie, Dominion Breweries, and Lion Breweries gained 1c each. Going against the trend were N.Z. Forest Products and Winstone.
