Take one lemon...
NZPA London An electric motor that began spinning a year ago when it was connected to a lemon is still revolving on its first anniversary, reports “The Times” of London. Mr Anthony Ashill, a clockmaker, of Kidderminster, built the lemonpowered motor last year and put it in the window of his shop to entertain children passing by. - His invention attracted international attention, and after a year, and with the lemon blackened and shrivelled, the motor is still turning. -“I had the idea that if I put a slit in each end of the lemon and inserted copper at one end and zinc at the other it would act as a battery and power the motor, but I had no idea that, electrically speaking, there was so much juice in a lemon,” Mr Ashill said. ‘At 120 r.p.m. he has calculated that the lemon has turned the motor round 63,722,800 times.
