her heels’ in port
Next week will mark the fourth month that the trim red-and-white fishing vessel Cecilia Trosca has been in the Port of Lvttelton and it is believed she may remain a few weeks longer. On March 22 the 251-ton vessel arrived at -Lyttelton ■ after a 14,000 mile voyage from Norway to be fitted with refrigeration gear. That exercise was to have taken about a month after which site was to sail to Tlniaru to operate ih the'service of Strathnllan Fisheries, Ltd. a subsidiary of Lane Walker Rudkin. Ltd. But unexpected "bugs” were; encountered in tiie new refrigeration gear being installed at Lyttelton. The original month to install the equipment which is to enable the Cecilia Trosca to remain at sea for up to .30 days at a time and freeze up to 16 tonnes of fish per day, became two months, then three, and now four. ... A spokesman for Lane Walker Rudkin yesterday said only that the vessel had encountered “problems with her refrigeration gear.” When asked when be expected the vessel would sail and get about the serious business of fishing to recoup the capital spent on her purchase and refitting, he said: “We hope it won’t be longer than another fortnight.” The company, would not release details of the costs that have been incurred with the Cecilia Trosca. Once she is fishing, her catch is expected to be sold to markets which have already been established by her owners. . . . ... ARRIVALS I Flinders-Bav CS.ZO a.m.l 26.156,. Welllnston (O.CL l. ..
