Randal Scott dropped
Randal Scott, whose three tries for University against New Brighton last Saturday brought his total to 101—a new Christchurch inter-club senior record—has'been placed in the reserves in the Canterbury team to play MidCanterbury in a representative rugby match at Ashburton on Saturday. However, it is unlikely that Scott has been dropped through lack of form as he has been most impressive in recent weeks. His replacement, Darryl Pa.rk, a solidly-built Old Boys player, ha.s been given the chance to reveal
his talents on the right wing. A good performance against Mid-Canterbury would probably clinch his retention in the Canterbury squad. The team is: Robbie Deans; Park, Vic Simpson, lan Mather; Paul Molloy, Keane; Gary Barkle; Peter McLe.ren; Henderson, Bruce Farmer, Jock Ross, Don Hayes (captain); Pat O’Byrne, Hall, Richard Loe. Reserves. — Backs: Graeme Ellis, Latham, Scott. Forwards: Mick Powley, Da,ve White, Jock Hobbs, Neil Porter.
