Conservation Week competition
Conservation Week will start at the beginning of August. It will be early spring, and there will be many signs of awakening life among plants and animals to remind us of all we have to conserve in the world of nature. Because conservation is important to everybody, we are using the word in a competition similar to the one many of you took part in towards the end of last year. "Conservation” is a long word, with a big meaning. All you do is make as many words as you can, using the letters it contains. Each word must have four letters, or more. Each letter can be used once only, except the two which occur twice — o and n. You can use each of these letters twice.
Plurals, Christian or surnames, and geographical names will not be allowed.
You must list the words according to the way they start, and set them out in the order in which the letters occur in the word, in this way: C cove, i .m, etc. O over ... N noon ~ ■ S serve .., Continue in this way until you have written the letters down the page Send your entry to ‘Tikumu,” C/-“The Press,” P.O. Box 1005, Christchurch. Entries may be left in the mail box at the front entrance of “The Press,” instead of being posted, and you will not need to buy a stamp. Your name, address, and age must be written clearly on your mtry, which must-be received by Monday, July 28. There will be prize?, for age groups. Results will be published on Tuesday, August 5.
