Man admits stealing milk powder
PA Auckland; A man has admitted steal-' ing 21 tonnes of milk pow-i der valued about $12,000,’ from the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company, Ltd, after a four-day depositions hearing. Kenneth John Joseph Walker, aged 44, a salesman, of Onehunga, appeared in the District Court at Auckland before Messrs J. Delowe and R. Henshall, Justices of the Peace. ! The defendant was re-' manded in custody to the l High Court for sentence on I three charges of theft, which occurred on February 3,4, and 5 last year. i ■ Five other charges against) the defendant of stealing! milk powder valued about' $2OOO from the company,' were withdrawn. A co-offender, Trevor Reginald Hart, aged 34, gave evidence. Hart, who earlier this year admitted stealing milk powder valued about $14,000 is serving a ninemonth term of imprisonment.
