Menten appeals
The wealthy Dutch art collector, Pieter Menten, has appealed to the Dutch Supreme Court against a 10year prison sentence imposed for the wartime murder of Polish Jews, a Justice Ministry spokesman has said. Menten. who is 81, was still in a diabetic coma in hospital yesterday, after collapsing on hearing news of the verdict handed down by a Rotterdam?, court. The spokesman said that ’ he had empowered his" defence lawyer to appeal even before he collapsed at his home while under house ’ drfest, — The Hague.
