Trio safe after bush vigil
PA Auckland A blanket of ferns protected three youngsters, lost; in the Waifakere Ranges on Sunday night, from the cold and rain. Raewyn Altena, aged 17, her sister, Michelle, aged 12. and brother, Ronald, aged 15 were found by a search party yesterday morning. | They had slept on the ferns and huddled together: to keep warm after realising it was too dark to find their way out Sunday night. Yesterday they managed to find the right track arid were on their way out of the bush when found about a kilometre from where they originally set off. Miss Raewyn Altena said the three became lost after taking the wrong turning on the track they were walking.
