Final trip for yacht
p.\ Wellington A grand old racing yacht made her final trip on Saturday — on board a council truck which
carted her shattered remains to a Wellington rubbish dump.
The 54-ycar-old Ngatoa. a single-masted cutter valued at between 540.000 and 550.000. was a victim of Friday night's raging southerly. She had been moored in Eastbourne's York Bay. The Ngatoa, which'was insured, was a Colin Wild-designed yacht, built in kauri. She sailed mainly in the Auckland area until Mr lan MacFarlane bought her three years ago.
