Accident cuts power
A .Christchurch man, Mr Gerard Paap, was admitted to Buller .Hospital in the early hours of Sunday after his car hit a pow'er pole on the Karamea bluff. Mr Paap was kept in hospital for observation and his condition was described as comfortable. Unfortunately for rugby enthusiasts, the accident cut power to Karamea, and local people missed television coverage of the test between the Lions and the Springboks.
