Leaking tanks cause concern
Leaking water tanks are. causing concern to farmers i using the Malvern Hills j rural water supply system,; the Malvern County Council! was told at its monthly] meeting at Darfield yester-l day. '.’■■■■■ More than 20 farm tanks have leaked in the last year. CrG. E. Wright said that it was essential for farmers to deal quickly with leaks ini their on-farm schemes, be-i cause leakages would affect! the quantity of power used. I Leaks were also reported! in some farm • reservoirs, and .there had been difficultygetting the manufacturer to repair the tanks.
A letter would be sent to the concrete tank manufacturer in Ashburton, on behalf "of the scheme farmers, ex pres sing concern abou t the manufacturer’s failure to rectify leaks and faults in the ranks supplied. . The council, intends to build a concrete box magazine at its yards in Mathias
