WAKARI HOSPITAL, DUNEDIN ASSESSMENT AND REHABILITATION UNIT NURSING POSITIONS THE ASSESSMENT and Rehabilitation Unit is a new purpose built complex attached to Wakari Hospital. The Unit will deal with the assessment, acute management and rehabilitation of elderly patients referred from Dunedin and the surrounding areas. . ■ When fully commissioned it will have 40 inpatient beds (to be run as two wards), a 20 place day ward for general elderly patients, and a 20 place psycho-geriatric day ward. It is also planned that the unit will eventually link with psychogeriatric in-patient facilities. The following positions are available and nurses with appropriate qualifications and experience are invited to apply:— 1. NURSING SUPERVISOR: Grade 11 D.G. 21 A Registered nurse with particular interest in the care of the elderlv, and with a minimum of 3 years of broad clinical and administrative experience is required to supervise the nursing services of the whole unit, together with some share in the nursing administration of the Hospital. QUALIFICATIONS: . Registered General and Psychiatric Nurse; Reg. Comprehensive Nurse. Diploma --of Nursing or other relevant postbasic qualification most desirable. 2. STAFF NURSES, ENROLLED NURSES: Positions are coming available in in-patients wards and both day-care sections (Geriatric and P.sycho-geriatricy for Registered General, Psychiatric. and Comprehensive Nurses, and for Enrolled Nurses.
