Jackpot must go
PA Wellington The jackpot at Trentham today could reach 8100,000 or more and it must be won. Interest is already running high, reminiscent of the big jackpots of the early 19705, and punters from as far afield as Whangarei and Invercargill have indicated that they will be present. Regulations demand that any pool must be terminated when it reaches $50,000. The present pool is more than $30,000 for a net amount of $28,021. If no tickets are exchanged for the fifth winner, the pool will go to those who have bet on the longest number of consecutive jackpot winners starting with the first race. The jackpot totalisator will open at 9.15 a.m. and will close at the official starting time of the first race, 11.35 a.m.
