Growth slows
World population growth slowed in the 19705, the United States Census Bureau has said. The rate of growth declined from an average of 1.9 per -cent during the first half of the decade to 1.7 per cent from 1975 to 1979, the bureau said. The report noted that less developed regions as a whole grew three •times as rapidly as the more developed regions — 2.1 per cent against 0.7 per cent a year respectively. — Washington.
