‘All You Need..’
“Imagine,” the final in “All You Need Is Love,” on One tonight, offers no conclusions as to the future development of popular .music, merely some indications as to its! present direction. Now, in the music business, creativity has to be bought and paid for. Often the price is considerable. “All You Need Is Love,” tonight features Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin, Mike Oldfield, Toni Brown, Bob Marley, Paul Simon, and Mike Gibbs. Replacing “All You Need Is Love” on Fridays
on One from next week is a repeat screening of the series, “Pennies From Heaven.” The six-part series is a plav with music which follows the adventures, the mishaps and the ings of Arthur, a travelling song-sheet peddlar, as he tries to make his dreams and sensual desires fit the promise of the lyrics he carries in his briefcase. The series is set in the England of the mid--1950s and uses more than 60 dance-band tunes of the period in novel and often startling ways.
