Salt export
Export orders received by Dominion Salt Ltd, for the financial year ended on June 30, exceeded $500,000 for the first time.
The company, one-third owned by Cerebos (N.Z.) Ltd, one-third by Skelleruo Industries, Ltd, and one-third by the Government, is now exporting to eight Pacific countries.
Although there was a poor harvest at the salt works at Lake Grassmere this year, the company is confident that it will be able to maintain supplies to New Zealand customers and to increase exports.
