Theft through skylight
Burglars manhandled about $lO,OOO worth of electrical goods — including heavy television and stereo sets — out through the skylight of a shop in Ferry Road, Woolston, early yesterday. “It is incredible. They must have been there half the night to shift all that stuff out through the roof,” said a woman who works
at the shop, Woolston Radio and Television, Ltd, at 6798 Ferry Road. She said the burglars had broken into the . shop through the skylight, which was linked to an alarm system. Once inside, however, they had apparently decided to lift the spoils back through the roof rather than, leave by the easier method of the shop’s doors.
“None of the doors were touched,” the woman said. < The haul included two ■ colour television sets and ; the shop’s entire stock of ; stereo units and radios. '; The police believe that a . truck or van was used to ■■ carry off the goods. It was the sixth burg- I lary of the shop, which is | owned by Mr F. Numan, in ; three years.
