Return of clothing

Sir, — Your front-page article of .June 13 about clothing returned from Indonesia was heart-rending. What a disappointment to Miss McLennan to have 65 cartons of used clothing returned after working alone to purchase and package them for the extremely poor and needy of Indonesia. The Red Cross and Corso do not send parcels anymore. They say they send money, but they must know there is no cheap clothing obtainable in Indonesia. Besides, the people Miss McLennan was sending to are destitute. I think the Indonesian officials look on their poor as trash and they make no endeavour to help them. — Yours, etc., P. A. DOLAN.
