Korea wins basketball
NZPA-AP Taipei South Korea beat the United States, 90-79, at the week-end to capture the 1980 Williams Jones Cup women’s basketball tournament at Taipei. The Korean squad led, • 44-38, at half-time. .
In another ' final day match, Taiwan’s white team came from behind to beat Taiwan’s blue team, 105-93 (47-48). and .finished in second place. The United States was third fa the tournament.
Ten women's teams, rrwa Canada, Korea, the Philippines, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden. Thailand, the United States, and Taiwan took part in the 12-day tournament.
