Polygamist jailed
A polygamist cult leader, Ervil Lebaron, has been jailed for life for plotting the murder of a rival polygamist, Dr. Rulbn C. Allred. Lebaron, age. rl 55, was found guilty of the first-degree murder of Allred, who was shot dead on May 1” by two women wearing disguises. Allred was the leader of the biggest known polygamist sect, with about 2000 followers. Lebaron was also found guilty of conspiring in an unsuccessful bid to kill his brother, Verlan Lebaron, the leader of. a third polygamist group. For that he , was jailed for five years-to-life. —Sait Lake City. . ’
