$5000 for writer
PA Wellington A Taranaki author,. David Hill, has won the 1.C.1. writer’s bursary for 1980. Mr Hill, an Inglewood secondary schoolteacher, has , written short stories, articles, reviews, and school textbooks and is co-editor, with Elizabeth Smithers, of the “Seventies Connection,” an anthology of New Zealand writing in the 1970 s to be published later this year. The $5OOO bursary, is to assist authors with potential whose reputation, is not well established. Mr Hill will use the bursary to work on a novel.
