Junior sport hit by rain
The rain of the last few days has caused the postponement, or cancellation, of most outdoor junior sport in Christchurch today. This means that there will be no social and very little competitive sport tomorrow. All rugby, with the exception of the senior and the senior B grades, has been ‘cancelled. There have been i some senior B ground .changes, but last evening the {senior draw had not been altered. The only soccer today will be in the Hertz league comE etition, and here there have e*en several ground changes. Cashmere Wanderers will now meet Technical at Somerfield Park at 2.45 p.m., the game between Nomads ; United and New Brighton ] will be at Tulett Park at the i same time, and 2.45 p.m. ( will also be the starting time for the games between Shamrock and Western at ; Riccarton Domain No. 2 and ] Northern Hearts and Wool- ; ston W.M.C. at Queen Eliza- « beth II Park. • This latter match has been ! Shifted from Timaru at s
r Northern Hearts’ request, - and it is possible that the : Q.E. II Park venue might be i changed this morning. The only rugby league , will be the premier grade, I and to rest the Show Grounds in preparation for I tomorrow’s big game the . Addington v. Marist-Westem { Suburbs and Kaiapoi v. Papanui matches will both be on the No. 2 field. The draw remains unchanged for senior men’s hockey, the only grade which will be played, while tomorrow the only match in the inter-district competition will be the final between High School Old Boys -and Harewood. In the meantime, this game is still set down for Porritt Oval. Only senior A women’s hockey games have been scheduled. Starting times are unchanged, but the revised venues are North Park (Carlton v. Cranmere), Burnside Park (Burnside v. ' Linwood United) and Cottesmore or Burwood Park * (Woolston v. Harewood).
