High prices at stud sale
High prices were paid at the dispersal sale of Mr K. W. Busch's South Dorset Down stud. Mr Busch, who farmed at Pendarves, offered 125 mated ewes, 40 ewe lambs, and 40 ram lambs. The breeding ewes had an excellent sale. Prices ranged from 855 to $1075, and the pen average was $164. Ewe lambs ranged from $4O to $350, with a pen average of $99; and ram lambs from $4O to $4OO, with a pen average of ¥9lInquiry for the sheep was widespread. The North Island was well represented, and stock has gone to Hawke’s Bay and Wairarapa, and to most South Island provinces. ■Mr Busch is a well known Corriedale breeder.
