Wrong firm

It was incorrectly reported in “The Press” yesterday that Mr Bill Lovell-Smith, who died on May 7, was of Davie, Lovell-Smith and Partners. His firm was Bill Lovell-Smith and Associates.

Mr Gordpn Buchanan (left) and Dr Alan Wilson discuss the wording on a plaque to be presented to the Chania. Hospital in Crete during a nostalgic pilgrimage to World War II battlefields.

Mr Buchanan' leaves' Christchurch today with more than 90 men and women on the first leg of a

two-month tour through the Middle East and Europe. The tour has' been organised by the New Zealand 23rd Battalion Association, all the men in the touring party being former members of the battalion. They are being accompanied by wives, widows, and relatives, and former nursing sisters who were associated with

the battalion during the war.

During the tour, the party will visit old base camps, battlefields, and battalion haunts. They will also visit cemeteries where 23rd Battalion men are buried, and attend commemorative services. Another eight 23rd Battalion veterans will join the touring party at either Munich, London, or Crete.
