Drama on ledge
NZPA Sydney , A New Zealand youth yesterday held emergency services at bay while he sat dangling his legs on an outside ledge on the thirteenth floor of a Sydney hotel building. The youth was eventually dragged to safety by the police. A police rescue squad and fire brigade ladder units were called to the Park Regis Motel in Park Street about 2 p.m. as lunchtime crowds watched the youth rock
backwards and forwards. The youth, dressed in a yellow T-shirt and jeans, sat on the edge of a balcony as police rescue squad members gained entry to an adjoining room and began talking to him. A Roman Catholic priest was called and talked with the youth for almost 45 minutes. The police eventually seized the youth and dragged him inside. He was later taken to Roselle Hospital.
