Better 1600 m and j beyond. Handles most types of ground. 3 1502 VIZIER (3) 58.5. ExcelI lent second to Silver Nymph | over 1600 m at Tauranga. Should be hard to beat given firm footing. 4 2000 BLUE RULA (11) 57.5. Well beaten in Easter Hani dicap, then over 2100 m at ’ Tauranga, thought both times ’ covered much extra ground. S. Autrldge 5 00 HAPPY UNION (12) 57.5. Top stayer when at his best. I Well back but will be imI proved by race over 1600 m | at Avondale. Usually runs I well on this course. 6 4 VAN DER HUM (2) 57.5. Another grand stayer which ran on strongly over final stages, 1600 m, at Avondale, in first race for two years. Certain to have improved with race.

P. Hillis 7 4044 MAC'S GAMBLE (4) 56. Bold race for fourth over 1600 m at Tauranga, then fourth over 1400 m at Trentham last Saturday. Deserves to win one. R. Marsh 8 6000 PRANCE R (5) 55. Might now find this distance too short. G. Cooksley 9 0000 RISING DAMP (13) 55. Stopped to last over 1600 m at Tauranga. Very good mudlark, and given favourite conditions could prove recent form all wrong. 10 4612 TIME O'DAY (1) 54.5. Impressive winner in intermediate compaay, 1600 m at Tauranga, then solid second, 1600 m at Avondale. Must have firm footing to give of best, R. Vance 11 8603 ROYAL FENCER (10) 54. Best race for some time was third in 2000 m at Trentham Wednesday. Usually runs well at Tauranga. 12 3000 SWIFT JUSTICE (19) 53. Improved with race over 1600 m at Avondale last start, which was first for four months. Probably better over more ground these days. B. York 13 0901 ANDAGAIN (6) 52.5. Caused great surprise when won 1600 m at Avondale. Scored well and should be prominent again, although this looks tougher. C. Nolan 14 0197 INNES LAD (8) 52.5. Fair effort in 1200 m at Avondale, second race in new campaign. Hardy type which could make presence felt. N. Tiley 15 0060 SHARMON (18) 52.5. Others preferred. 16 1200 ABOVE THE CLOUDS (9) 51.5. Has raced badly in last two starts. 17 3000 CHAGAN (16) 51.5 Showed usual speed then dropped out of 1400 m. Ellerslie, last Saturday. Will need to last much better. 13 8470 TAMARYN (17) 51.5. Followed 2nd to Pastroi at Otaki with good win over 1200 m at Avondale. Bad draw 1 against him here and musO have firm footing. R. Vance 4 5878 EVEN DOLLARS (2) 533. Probably will find pace toe quick. 9 1742 WIA NUI (9) 52. Has held form extremely well. Collared last few strides over 1200 tn at Avondale, and as good a race for 4th there few days earlier. 10 4105 CATALANA (8) 51.5. Won at Helensvllle equahsator meeting, running 1200 m. in Imin. 10.25, then sth over 1200 m at Avondale. Has often looked smart. , . 11 OOM HELEN MARY (16) 513. Better race for 4th, over 1200 m, at Avondale, following couple of moderate ones which she might have needed. Looked good when notching brace of wins over Christmas. 12 0700 ARVALANT (15) 51. Finished well back over 1200 m at Avondale in first race since Feb. Should last longer this time. 13 8880 BALKAN CHIEF (5) 51. Mainly disappointing since winning IZH Guineas Trial .nSeptember. J.
