Unusual features
The Features, an Auckland rock group which includes a sound effects man amongst its line-up, is in Christchurch for the next two weeks. The group; a four-piece, is playing at the Hillsborough Tavern, this week, and follows it with another week at the Imperial Hotel. According to the lead guitarist, Jed Town, besides playing in the usual hotel venues in Auckland, the band has performed at the top of One Tree Hill and at the Mangere Hospital. Another unusual aspect! of the band is that it plays to suit the members rather than having a commercial sound to suit its audiences.
The Features are the first group to have a single released.. by the newly-formed independent label, Propellor Records, run by Simon Griggs, who used to manage New Zeagroup, the Suburban Reptiles.
