MAY HOLIDAY MOVIE GUIDE
As always during the school holidays, the season brings together a variety of movies in Christchurch for those young at heart, although age is not always the major consideration. The Disney Studios are at it again, with two new releases within the city area, both with intriguing names — “Hill’s Angels” and “Return from- Witch Mountain,” the latter with Bette Davis on slightly
unfamiliar ground. All the pictures above begin tomorrow, except for the two Disney movies, which start on Saturday: TOP LEFT: Alquazar (Christopher Lee) promises Prince Hasan (Oliver Tobias) the hand of Princess Zuieira (Emma Samms) in marriage. if he will undertake the dangerous mission to pluck the magic Rose of Eiil in “Arabbian Adventure” (Odeon). TOP RIGHT: The “Trinity” team, Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill, relax in darkest Africa while on Safari in “I’m for the Hippopotamus” (Savoy 2). CENTRE LEFT: Tying up the baddies in Disney’s “Hill’s Angels” (Savoy 1). This is the story ,of a church minister and his gang of women parishioners who clean up their town from illegal gambling. BOTTOM RIGHT: Anthony James, Bette Davis and Christopher Lee (again) as the villains in Disney’s “Return from Witch Mountain” (Carlton). Described as a telepathic thriller, it includes everything from levitation to flying saucers. ABOVE: With Sensurround sound, “Mission Galactica: The Cyclon Attack” (Cinerama) is the sequel to “Battlestar Galactica” and the latest in a field started only a few years ago by the phenomenal success of “Star Wars.” •
