Thatcher supports Carter secrecy
NZPA London The British Prime Minister (Mrs Margaret Thatcher) has said that President Carter was right to keep secret the planned rescue mission of the American hostages in Iran. “If I were ever to put troops in to rescue some
British people, do you think I would put the lives of our troops at risk — or the British people at risk — by spreading all over the world what I was going to do?” Mrs Thatcher said in a 8.8. C. interview. “Of course I wouldn’t.”
