Submissions sought
PA ■ Auckland Public submissions ars sought for the Royal Commission on the Arthur Allan Thomas case, which will have a preliminary hearing in 15 days. The first meeting will open to the public and will be held in the Southern Cross Building in central Auckland. The commission will then determine the pro-, cedure of further hearings: who will appear, and the scope, extent and general nature of the material to be presented. Tlie commission’s administrator (Mr J. H. Blackaby) said that written submis-
sions should be sent to the commission, care of the Tribunals Division of the Justice Department in Wellington. He said submissions could be made by persons or their legal representatives until a date was set for the main hearing. The commission has been set up to inquire into and report upon the circumstances of Mr Arthur Thomas’s conviction for the murders of David Harvey Crewe and Jeannette Lenore Crew at Pukekawa. It is required to report its finding, opinions, and recommendation to the Governor-General before January 31, 1981.
