Untroubled victories
University (men) and Carlton (women) were untroubled to win their eighth and sixth successive indoor hockey titles respectively at Canterbury Court last evening. University had an edge of superiority throughout against Selwyn-Hillmorton and won, 5-3, while Carlton received only mild opposition from Bumside to win, 6-0. But these two .division I games were anti-climactic after the thrilling secondary schools’ division J final between Papanui High School and Christchurch Boys’ High School. Papanui won 4-3 in extra time and it was the first time Boys’ High had lost the final since the division was instituted six years ago. Results of other finals were: Men.—Division II: Sydenham) Cashmere 6. • High School Old Roys 3. Division III: Woolston 3 t High School Old Boys 1. Secondary schools.—Division II) Christchurch B.H.S. 4, Shirted B.H.S. 3. Women.—Division II: Carltort 2. Woolston 1 (after penally Istrokes).
