U.N. mission in N.Z.
Parliamentary reporter A 10-member mission from the United Nations Council for Namibia arrived in Wellington yesterday' for a fourday visit to New Zealand. The mission’s tour of Australia and New Zealand is intended to publicise the work of the council, a United Nations body which has been responsible for administering Namibia (formerly SouthWest Africa) since the United Nations terminated South Africa’s mandate over the territory. The Council for Namibia is based in New York, because

While in Wellington the mission will call on the Minister of State (Mr Thomson), the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee (Mr P. I. Wilkinson), and the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Rowling). It will also have talks with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The mission is led by Mr Orhan Eralp, Turkey’s Ambassador to the United Nations since 1978.
