General forecast: The anticyclone over the Tasman Sea and New Zea-; land is expected to maintain settled weather in all districts. However, it will be rather cloudy in the North Island though some bright intervals are expected. Isolated light ■ showers are likely. In the South Toland there will be areas of fog, drizzle or low cloud night and morning but it will be fine in most districts in the

(afternoon. In Fiordland and [about Foveaux Strait it will [be cloudy with a few show[ers. ; Light winds will predominate in all districts. Temperatures will be two or three degrees above average in Otago in the afternoon but elsewhere temperatures will be near average. Centre forecasts: Christchurch. Ashburton, Timaru: Becoming fine.
