More bauxite shipped by Comalco
Production of bauxite by Comalco, Ltd, fell 10.9 per cent from 2,200,000 tonnes to 1,960,000 tonnes in the three months to March 31. However, bauxite shipments rose 14.6 per cent to 1,860,000 tonnes. Primary aluminium ingot production from ComaJco’s Bell Bay smelter and its’half interest in the Bluff New eZaland smelter, rose 2.5 per 'cent to 47,877 tonnes. Comalco spent $200,000 on mineral exploration during the three months the directors report. .
