Services ‘too expensive
Timaru reporter The provision of services for Lake Tekapo village may have to be slowed. The County Chairman (Mr B. J. extensions in the village, said that rating for sewerage and water would need to be increased 49 per cent if the present water and sewerage services were to be self-supporting. If a planned sewerage extension were undertaken, he said, these rates would need to be, slightly more than doubled to make the services financially self-supporting. Cr D. W. Moyes said that the services would cost a lot more if , their installation was deferred. An extension of sewerage would make possible further subdivision in the village.
