Federal Aviation Administration. The spokesman said the company did not know yet whether the mishap would delay first, deliveries of the super 80 due later this year. The twin-engined super 80, designed to increase the DC9’s passenger load to a maximum of 172, had already undergone 700 hours of a .1000 hour test programme required by the F.A.A. Airlines which have ordered the super 80 include Swissair, Austrian Airlines, and Aeromexico. •
