Quick action by firemen prevented the spread of this fire in the ground floor car-park at the rear of the . Elsham Courts building in Cashel Street yesterday. A first alarm turn-out of seven fire engined and
four staff cars answered the alarm call after rubbish in a corner of the car-park caught fire at 2.45 p.m. Some parked cars were blackened by smoke, but none were seriously damaged. The ceiling of the
car-park was badly charred, but firemen managed to prevent the flames from spreading to the floors above. Fire-safety officers are investigating the cause of the blaze.
