U.S. karate trip
Two more members of the Seido Club in Christchurch are making a trip to the United States to further their karate experience. Charles and Jenny White leave on Sunday for New York where they will spend five weeks training under Tadashi Nakamura at the world headquarters of Seido Karate. The return airfares of the couple will be paid by the club which has now assisted about 15 of its members to the New York headquarters. The Whites have been
first dan black belts for two years. They were believed to be the first husband and wife in New Zealand to progress simultaneously from white through to black belt. Rock fans in Christchurch know Charles White as a former lead guitarist for Kippers and the Spitfires. Three members of Seido returned to Christchurch only last month after sessions with Nakamura.
