Many voters not yet enrolled

PA Auckland Onehunga and Northern Maori electors have’ until 6 p.m. tomorrow to get on the rolls for the forthcoming byelections. Nominations will close on May 15 and the writs have to be returned by June 27. Labour Party officials estimate that up to 2000 Onehunga voters are not yet enrolled. cent of those eligible to vote were not on the most recent roll available. . “This figure rose 70 or 80 per cent in high flatting areas,” he said. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Rowling) told a news conference the Northern Maori roll was in a “pretty sad state of disarray.” He said he was very concerned there would be no supplementary roll. -
