Meredith stars again
Dave Meredith continued his outstanding form in inter-club-billiards when he clearly beat the Canterbury champion, Brian Kirkness, in the latest round.' Kirkness had a break of 77, but Meredith did even better with returns of 98 and 89. A round earlier, against Eric Simons, Meredith set a Canter, bury record of 212 and he also had' a 150 unfinished. Meredith’s win paved the way for his team Shirley to have an upset. 3-0, win over Ricearton The two other games were close, with Lew Adams scoring an unfinished break of 59 to win by five points. Richmond also surprised by beating Papanui, 3-0. The Richmond No. 1. Ken Giles, had a good win over Simons, his total of 371 being most impressive for a two-hour game.
