Bread price to rise?
The price of bread will rise at least 2c a loaf next year, according to the new chairman of the agricultural section of North Canterbury Federated Farmers, Mr F. A. Bull.. This was because of the increased payout to farmers agreed to for the next
season, he told the sec-, tion’s annual conference. The public should be aware that the wheat in a loaf of bread accounted for about one-sixth of the value of the loaf. The other five-sixths were shared by the cost-plus sections of industry outside the farm gate.
