Greasy wool prices fall
The average price of greasy wool sold at the last Christchurch sale bn April 17 was 257.25 c a kilogram, which was lower by 15.8 c a kilogram, or almost 6 per cent, on rates paid at the two-day sale at the end' of February. However, prices were still between 9 per cent and 10 per cent higher
than they were at the Christchurch sale in April last year. According to figures supplied by the Christa churdi Woolbrokers’ Asso« ciation, 29,093 bales of wool containing 4,456,353 kg sold fbr a total of $11,463,853.47 last month. The average price per bale was $394.04, for a bale averaging 153.17 kg.
