Save in excellent trial
Special correspondent Palmerston North Save was in top form at Awapuni yesterday morning when she galloped in preparation for the Galaxy Stakes at Trentham tomorrow. She has thrived, since winning at Waipukurau last week and if the track Is good she will take some beatingWorking on the plough, Save ran from the 1200 m in Imin 2L6s, the last <6oom in 39.65. This mare is well above average. She will be ridden by David Walsh and if Trentham dries out she will make the others work
hard for victory. However, she is not the same force on wet ground. The Mannikin and Fidget covered 1400 m in Imin 35.65. the last 600 m in 40.65. Fidget ran a good race at Waipukurau and has prospects against the maiden stayers at Woodville today. D’artica ran from the 800 in 51s, the last 600 m in 38s and he was doing it nicely all the way. He was impressive at Woodville on Friday and will attempt another success at Trentham tomorrow. I’m Sam and Camargue covered 1200 m in Imin 21s,
•, the last 600 m in 40s. I’m n Sam was just beaten at Woodville on Friday and has t a winning chance in the first a leg of the double there today. Camargue is in the t same race and would hold some chance. a Working on the inside trial, Epic and Lucinda were 0 well matched all the way s over 1200 m in Imin 18s, the y last 600 m in 38.65. This was a good gallop and Epic looks / the winner of the final event r at Trentham tomorrow. Lu- - cinda will contest the same race.
