Visitors to Cashfields will find a taste of Old Vienna upstairs in the Steffi Coffee House.
Following the style of , the traditional Viennese ' cafes, the tables are , covered by cloths, there '• are flower boxes and ' shutters, the colour scheme is Austrian red white and green and the waitresses . are dressed in Austrian national costume. The food, too. is Euro- ‘ pean. I Real Viennese apfel- ; Strudle is a speciality; deep, f creamy gateaux and Vienrjfiese pastries will be 4 equally popular. Open sand- | whiches, pates and quiches t cater for those with less of I sj sweet tooth. The Steffi Coffee House, Jiplso the brain-child of Mr gEddie Schmidt, will attract te’a different type of clientele jirom his second-floor restSaurant. V ■ ■ The atmosphere is resjaxed and peacful, encouraging patrons to sit awhile - bver their coffee, chat with ■ friends or read a newspaper..,-. i Viennese cafes provide v tffieir customers with, copies <Jf local newspapers set up in a bamboo frame, for easy reading at/ the table.' members from his former home will be an important aspect of the coffee house’s service, ■ ' He will be in attendance himself for a good proportion of the day, complete with Austrian suit and always ready to pass the time of day with his customers. The food served by the coffee house is all made on the spot and if a customer can find nothing to his liking on the shelves the staff will make something to order. Home made bread rolls accompany the pates and soiips which will'be a specialty over the winter. The coffee house 1 will also sell food from the bakery for customers to take home.
