High price for heifer
PA New Plymouth One of the highest prices for a beef heifer; has been paid at S. W. Hooper and Son’s Hereford dispersal sale at Lepperton. A three-year-old heifer, Grandvue Cynthia 18th, was knocked down for $4500 to H. Reis, of Stratford.
Interest in the Grandvue Stud’s dispersal came from throughout New Zealand. The young female stock sold well, 13 threeyear heifers averaging $1053. The herd of 93 head, nearly a third of which were calves, sold at an average of $645.
