Inheritor came, quickly from a trailing position to win the first trial narrowly from the pacemaking Butler’s Command, with a head to the third placed Shabby Tiger. Inheritor has drawn handily in the Isleworth Handicap. Race rival Waitara came solidly from midfield to peg back Mister Del and the Oaks hopeful Elfin in the third maiden heat. Waitara dashed over his last 400 m in

30.2 s to win by a neck, with a head to Mister del. Elfin was half a length back third.

Easter Mom finished impressivly from three places back to win the fourth minor heat, a fine trial for the Navy Handicap at Addington on Friday. Second, half a length back came the pacemaker Janie Louise with Mission Wine third. Senator Lea, after breaking rushed to the lead 1800 m out, and kept on to narrowly beat Gay Black in the ClC 3 heat for trotters. Senator Lea will start from 30m in the Newlands Handicap, while Gay Black will be worth consideration in the Hampstead Handicap.

The minor trotter’s heat was won from start to finish by Geranee, with Norice Wave a fine second after sprinting three wide from the 700 m. Third, one and a.quarter lengths back was Ad Anguem.
